BARBARESCO D.O.C.G.

Established in Nizza Monferrato in 1920, the Scrimaglio winery boasts a century-old vocation for quality. It has a link with the territory expressed perfectly in the production of the most prestigious Langhe and Monferrato wines: Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d’Asti, Gavi and Arneis. A traditional style which, sustained by the finest winemaking techniques, is particularly attentive to the promotion of native grapes and their elegant, balanced and authentic expression.

The vineyard in the Montagne appellation covers around 25 hectares on a clay/limestone hillside to the north-east of St Emilion, and in the early 1990s received considerable investment, with much work done in the vineyard and the cellar. 

Fermentation with long maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation. Ageing minimum 1 year in large oak barrels and long ageing in bottle

contains sulphites 

The aroma is a powerful and complex mix of ripe plum and black cherry, with hints of powdered coffee and tobacco adding depth
